SwingVision - Ernie Els Driver

I found some SwingVision pics of Els hitting driver off the tee. They illustrate how woods should be swung with a "sweeping" motion. In other words, with woods, the club needs to approach the ball on an ascending path.

Hitting irons is just the opposite. With irons, the club needs to approach the ball on a descending path. This was previously illustrated with Tiger Woods' SwingVision pics.

Thanks Erik. You've got a great golf blog going, and I've added a link to your site. Hit 'em straight.

Hi Maverick,
I tried to tape some of the top pros in Heidelberg this spring using a high speed camera (200 frames/second). Unfortunately the equipment given to me by the university did not work. Do you have entire swing vision swings? If so it would be really nice of you if I could have a copy of them.

Thanks for the comment Axel. Unfortunately, the size of the files are too large to transmit (about 50 MB each). Bedauere!

Els is NOT hitting up here!

There is forward lean of the clubshaft and there clubhead is descending ever so slightly during impact as it hasn't reached low point yet.
